On the 26th February 2022, we hopped on a boat and took a ride up the Bosporus Strait getting off in Sariyer about 20km north of the center of Istanbul.
No plans except to simply enjoy the ride. It was wonderful, slowly making our way. Stopping off to pick up and drop off commuters and tourists, the sights of different parts of the city passing by.
At the end in Sariyer we found a bite to eat and explored the area ending up at Vehbi Koç’s house. Vehbi Koç was a businessman and philanthropist. The home now house a museum collection of Josephine Powell, who was one of the first foreigner allowed in to Turkey when it became a republic, the collection contains kilims from across the country.
