We are almost three weeks into 2023, a year that for me is filled with even more unknowns than the last and that’s saying something.
Kleo and I ended 2022 watching fireworks in Brisbane, Australia enjoying the atmosphere of a busy precinct of bars and music. And spent the first day of 2023 resting and looking after a lovely Greyhound.
In the weeks that I have followed I have split my time between job hunting, photos sorting, and website updating with some family time and other activities along the way.
This website is a project that I intended to get off the ground last year as a way to share more of my travels than I could just through Instagram and Facebook, but things don’t always go to plan.
Hindsight is a wonderful thing and I now realise trying to build up a website while you are exploring foreign countries is neither particularly easy, nor particularly interesting (compared to say paragliding).
But here we are, now in position where I can focus more time to creative pursuits, so the website starts to grow.
It’s going to be a long process. I took a lot of pictures while exploring Europe. Even with some sorting along the way, when I arrived to Australia in November I had some 26,000 photos in google drive. I’ve since pulled that down to 19,000 and slowly dropping further. Perhaps a little to trigger happy at times. Over the next months I’ll be adding new pages of photos but there’s a couple destinations in Turkey at the moment.
This website is also going to become home to more stories and reflections of my travels. I’ve already written a few which barring a few minor updates I’ll leave as they are. I’m aiming to post one story a week on topics covering our adventures, discoveries, reflection, and more. Might even take topic requests.
Just like our adventures the website will grow and evolve as new things happen but for now this is the plan to share and prepare for the next adventures.
We’re in Australia for the foreseeable, I’ll be working at a restaurant and Kleo gets to enjoy the high life of relaxation, if you’re in Brisbane get in touch.
